Evertek Cable TV FAQ
Is this just another satellite cable TV service?
No, Evertek is a LOCAL company that broadcasts the best cable and LOCAL network channels from our towers located in Everly and Palmer, Iowa. The signal is received via a small microwave antenna that our staffed technicians install!
Is it true that if I can't see the tower I can't get your signal?
Not at all. We have special equipment that monitors the signal and is able to see the tower even when our technicians can´t. We will do a test before the installation and make sure that the signal is of good quality. We want your total satisfaction.
What are advantages of this technology for the customer?
Evertek Cable TV system utilizes the latest "whole house" technology available. Any cable ready TV or VCR throughout the house has access to the same or different channels on different TV sets at the same time, with no additional equipment and no additional monthly charges. Please refer to the Advantages sheet for further details.
So why is the "Whole House" Feature so important?
The Evertek system requires NO special wiring. Modern homes are typically pre-wired and existing cable will work fine. In some cases, the homeowner can install additional cable outlets themselves. Evertek can also provide this service if the home does not have cable.
What about my new TV with picture in picture, my ability to record one channel while watching another with my VCR, and the stereo sound capabilities of my new TV. Will everything work? Will I need any more equipment or another remote control?
The Evertek system allows all of these features to work flawlessly, without any additional equipment, and we won't need to provide you with an additional remote control. You just use the ones provided with your VCR or TV.
What about Local Network Stations, will I need an additional antenna to receive these stations like the DBS systems need?
NO, Evertek has agreements with local broadcast affiliates to rebroadcast ABC, NBC and CBS. There is no additional antenna required, no additional wiring, and no additional monthly cost. It's easy to see the local news, sports and weather.
What about reliability and weather conditions, will my reception be affected?
The Evertek system uses the most reliable frequencies that have been authorized by the FCC. Heavy rain, snow, and light ice buildup will have no effect on your reception. Rare atmospheric conditions can affect all forms of wireless communications including Evertek. However, our experience has shown that these conditions happen very rarely, and only for a short period of time.
