How to set up for DHCP and Internet

Operating System: [Windows 95, 98 & ME], [Windows XP], [Mac]

 

Windows 95, 98 & ME

1. Click on the "Start" button and select "Run."
Type "winipcfg" at the open prompt and click "Ok".

2. At the Winipcfg screen, the drop down box should display your Ethernet adapter.
If it says "PPP Adapter", click on the menu and select your Ethernet adapter instead.
You should see something similar to the image below.

3. On the "Adapter Address" line, a 12 digit address seperated by 5 dashes should be displayed.
This is your network card's "MAC" address.

Once you have obtained your address, click "Ok" to close the window.

Windows 2000 & XP

1. Click on the "Start" button and select "Run."
At the Open prompt, type in "cmd"

This will bring up a DOS prompt screen.

2. At the pompt, type in "ipconfig /all"
You should see something similar to the image below.

3. In the Controller section of the displayed output, your MAC address will be on the "Physical address" line.
After you have obtained your MAC address, type "exit" to close out the command prompt.

Macintosh

1. Click on the "Apple" button, select "Control Panels," and select "AppleTalk."

2. Click on the "Edit" menu and select "User Mode"

3. Click on the "Advanced" button and click "Ok"

4. Click on the "Info" button.

5. A 12 digit address should be listed after the "Hardware address" line.
This is your Ethernet MAC address.

Once you have obtained your address, click on "OK" to close the panel.
