How to use WSFTP to upload files to your web space

To connect to your user directory on the Evertek web server using WS_FTP LE:

Launch WS_FTP LE from the Windows desktop:
Click on your Windows Start button.
Select Programs, and then select WS_FTP, and then WS_FTP95 LE

The Session Properties window will open.
Select the FTP site you want to connect to for this session with the following steps.
Enter the following on the General page--
Profile Name: WS_FTP EVERTEK
Host Name/Address: www.evertek.net
Host Type: Automatic detect
User ID: your user name as assigned by Evertek for web server access
Password: your password as assigned by Evertek for web server access
If you want the program to remember your password, you can click the Save Pwd box.

When you click the OK button, you will connect to the FTP site at www.evertek.net. If you have speakers on your computer, you'll hear the sound of a train when you've successfully connected.

Your screen will look like much like this when the connection is started:

The pane on the left is a view of the files on your computer (Local System). The pane on the right is a view of your directory and your files on the Evertek web server (Remote Site).

When you wish to send a file to your directory on the Evertek web server, select the file on your computer (left pane) and then click the arrow that points to the right in between the two panes. The file you've selected will be transferred (copied) to your web directory on the Evertek web server. This only takes a second or two, and when complete, you will see your file listed in the right pane.

This process works in reverse, as well. By selecting a file in your directory on the Evertek web server (shown in the right pane) and clicking on the arrow pointing to the left, you can transfer (copy) a file to your computer, which is shown in the left pane.

Your transfer will begin and finish with a few seconds.

The buttons listed beside both the left and right panes can be used to maintain your directory and files. You can rename or delete files, make new directories, etc. on your own local computer listed in the left pane, as well as in your directory on the Evertek web server listed in the right pane.

The default view of your Local System (left pane) is C:\Program Files\WS_FTP. You can move up to C:\Program Files by double-clicking the green up-arrow. To change to another drive letter, scroll down and double-click on any available drive.

To close your connection, click the Close button in the bottom left-hand corner and then click the Exit button.
